An Introductory Statement from Rachel
December 31, 2009--Hi, I am Rachel Brown, and I've got something to put on the table. I am running for the Democratic nomination to represent Massachusetts’ 4th Congressional district, against Bailout Barney Frank.
We are in a total breakdown of the world’s economy, now reaching an entirely new level, where entire nation-states are defaulting on their debt. Recently, we have observed a criminal disregard for the welfare of citizens during this breakdown, with our nation’s leadership choosing instead to rescue a doomed system, the system of London-Wall St. free-trade monetarism. Under Barney’s leadership, real solutions have been deliberately shunned, while bills to defend the “too big to fail,” have been embraced, all the while telling the population, “This is in your interest.” Now look at the state of the real economy, think of how you and your family are faring. Is it true, that this is all that can be done?
Since the inauguration of President Obama, we have been told that we must deal with the systemic collapse on our own. In response to the job crisis, we were told to “tighten our belts,” to respond to the spread of HINI by “washing our hands,” and to deal with the health care collapse by killing our old and poor. Without hesitating, Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi have defended it all.
It is time for this to stop. As Franklin Roosevelt’s example proved, our Constitution always provides us with a policy solution, if we choose to defend the General Welfare. Our determination must be to win the political battle standing up to Wall St. and London’s policies, and opposing them. Our policy as Americans is to develop the human economy, to increase the living standard of the population, and to contribute to future generations.
How is this done? Economist Lyndon LaRouche has put forth the necessary policies, and as a candidate, I will fight for them. This is the LaRouche Plan: 1.) Cancel the bailout, get that money back! 2.) Reorganize the banking system with a return to Glass-Steagall. 3.) Create massive amounts of credit for large-scale infrastructure projects. 4.) Implement the Four-Powers policy of cooperation between Russia, China, India and the United States. This world needs a mission! Recently, Russia and China have taken decisive steps toward enacting the LaRouche Plan., by investing otherwise worthless US dollar reserves into high speed rail and nuclear development projects.
That is what I've got to put on the table. Now what will Barney Frank have to say?
