On the Birthday of Robert Schumann

“People say 'it pleased,' or 'it did not please,', as if there were nothing higher than the art of pleasing the public...it is the artist's lofty mission to shed light on the depths of the human heart...the laws of morality are also those of art.”

Robert Schumann
(June 8th, 1810—July 29th, 1856)

The Rachel Brown campaign is honored today to celebrate the 200th birthday of composer and humanist Robert Schumann. Through his music, Schumann fought tirelessly, together with his wife Clara, friends Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn, and the classical humanist circles of Germany, to uphold the dignity and beauty of man, and to defend the tradition of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven from the evil and nihilism of Richard Wagner. That same noble view of mankind which Schumann fought to defend, is right now under attack by the British Empire and its lackeys in the United States, typified by the Obama administration and moral degenerate “Bailout” Barney Frank.

Rachel Brown and her campaign are committed to continuing Robert Schumann's fight today; not by simply reviving the beautiful musical culture of the Schumanns, but by spearheading the fight for policies which will uplift the quality of life of our great nation to a level truly worthy of the dignity of man.
